What is Narayan Nagbali?
Various rituals and rituals are performed here in Trimbakeshwar. “Narayana Nagbali Pooja” is a Vedic Pooja for the removal of PitridoshIt is done, a period of 3 days is required for this pooja. In this 2 different types of rituals are performed like Narayan Bali and Nagbali. Narayan Bali Pooja is performed to appease the disgruntled souls of pitras and Nagbali Pooja is performed to get rid of the sins committed. Both poojas are performed to get rid of Pitru Dosha or Pitru Curse as well as to propitiate the souls of the ancestors and to get rid of the sin if the snake died unknowingly. Also, Narayan Nagbali ritual is also performed for the soul of the person whose body has not been cremated (the person has left the house).
When a person has killed a snake, or has caused it, or has encouraged such a person while killing it, or has seen the killing of a snake without preventing such a person from doing so, it is demonic pleasure. Then such a person incurs the sin of killing a snake. Thus the result of sin is trouble and suffering. This ritual has to be done to solve it.
If a person in your family or previous generations has died in a bad death, this ritual is performed to propitiate their souls. There are a total of 90 types of death; But mainly the following types of deaths are broken down into non-fatal deaths:
- Accidental death
- Death by suicide
- Pollination (leaving the house)
- To die without issue
- To die of greed for wealth
Due to all the above reasons, Pitrodosh is formed in the chart of family members. Narayana Nagbali ritual is performed for its redressal.
Also, if a person’s birth chart is characterized by the position of the planets, then according to the astrologer, the Narayana Nagbali ritual is performed to remove the birth defect.
Narayan Nagbali ritual is also performed for progeny i.e. for the advancement of the clan.

Why should one perform this anushtaan?
1. if visiting ones home gives uncomfortable feelings or children at home fall sick repeatedly.
2. if one is having problems conceiving children or there are repeated miscarriages or only a girl child is being conceived repeatedly.
3. if ones house has been affected by black magic or there are spirit related problems around oneself.
Since the above reasons may cause one suffering and instability in life, one should go for a process of rectification, via specially trained Vedic pundits experienced in this pooja/anushtaan.

Where can you perform Narayan Nagbali Puja?
Narayan Nagbali Puja is one of the religious rituals performed in the Trimbakeshwar temple area . Narayan Nagbali Puja is performed at Ahilya Godavari Sangam and Mahasmashan of Sati located at the eastern gate of the Trimbakeshwar temple area. Many ancient texts have mentioned the significance of Narayana Nagbali Puja ritual statement.
Who can perform Narayana Nagbali Puja?
- According to Shastra, Narayan Nagbali Pooja can be performed by a man alone, but a woman cannot perform this pooja alone.
- A single widower can also perform the Narayan
- Nagbali Puja ritual for the upliftment of family members.
- Couples can also perform this ritual for procreation.
- A pregnant woman (up to seven months gestation) is allowed to perform this ritual.
- Hindus should not perform this ritual for 1 year after a sacred function like marriage (this ritual can be performed after any other sacred function).
- If parents have passed away, one can perform this ritual after one year of death.
What is the method of Narayan Nagbali Pooja?
Narayan Nagbali Puja is completed in three days, in which rituals are performed in the following sequence.
First Day:
- First one should take holy bath at Kushavarta Tirtha and wear new clothes. Men should wear dhoti and women should wear saree
Vishnu Pujan and Vishnu Tarpan are performed - Guruji, the images of the five deities, namely Brahma-silver image, Vishnu-gold image, Shankardev-copper image, Yamaraja-iron image, ghost-lead image are placed on five urns and worshipped
- After this Havan is performed according to the rituals
- Shraddha of 16 Pindas is performed facing south
- Then Kakabali is performed
After all these rituals, Palash ritual is performed. In this ritual, a human statue is worshiped and cremated. After that Dashakriya ritual is performed in the name of that statue.
Second day:
- Mahikodhishta Shraddha, Sapindi Shraddha and Nagbali rituals are performed
Day Three:
- On the third day of the puja, one should meditate on Lord Ganesha and perform Ganapati Poojan for burning away all negativity and leading to Karyasiddhi.
- On this day, worship the golden snake and dedicate it to Guruji.
- Thus the worship on the third day concludes.

Points to be Noted
- The pooja of Narayan Nagbali is completed in 3 days.
- Once the Narayana Nagbali Puja begins, devotees are not allowed to go anywhere outside the Trimbakeshwar Temple .
- All devotees can consume only sattvic (onion and garlic forbidden) food provided by Brahmins during puja days.
- People must arrive one day earlier (before 5 P.M.) at the worship place.
- Please bring with you new white clothes dhoti, gamcha, napkin and for your wife saree, blouse etc. (Other than black or green colour).
- Bring with you an idol of a snake made with gold.
- Reservation for this ritual must be made via phone +91 9881888709 a minimum 4 days in advance by informing us. Your name and telephone number is to be registered before coming for the rites. It is inevitable to make reservations to avail all the facilities.
- If you want to visit the Shri. Trimbak Temple, then you need to come as early as possible to the place.
- Nashik-Trimbak highway is unsafe for travelling in the night time so assure to reach early.
- We don’t have highly qualified medical facilities so a kind request to the visitor please avoid bringing medically unfit family members. you should carry your own medicines if required.
- Here we have extreme seasons of cold and rains so please carry the required clothes with you.
- No breakfast will be made available. you have to arrange it yourself which is not having onion contents.
- The ladies having periods can not perform rituals.kindly take care.
- If any family members are found drunk, their rituals will not be performed.
- Narayan-nagbali ritual cannot be performed during the death, or marriage of family members from 6 months to a year. The other parental families are not related. This rule does not apply to Tripindi and Kalsarp Shanti.
- You are coming for performing rituals and all the arrangements for stay and food will be made by “The Guruji”. This is not lodging/boarding, kindly take this in notice.
